Holiday Shopping: Joy or Pain?

Holiday Shopping: Joy or Pain?
Holiday Home Shopping

Holiday shopping season is usually a time of great joy for brands and retailers. Unfortunately, due to so many uncontrollable factors there is a great worry when there should be great joy. Often, this would be the time of year, where many would anticipate majority of their sales occurring. They would prepare for this season with great enthusiasm and excitement. Tariffs, rising costs including delivery rates, returns and returns fraud have put a damper to put it mildly. ReturnQueen is stepping up in impressive fashion to assist with returns and return fraud.

Fundamentally we have obsessed over a core belief that home shopping is in its infancy. Shopping from the web and  mobile apps are just beginning. While this should be an easy transition, for many brands to focus as much on web as they do on brick and mortar, they have been hurt badly by returns. So much so that in recent years some have literally given up and told shoppers to keep the item. Compounding the problem is the fraud happening when someone returns an unwanted item.

We have been working on a home pickup service propelled by our app. This service is focused on the belief that a home is the new dressing room. When someone purchases 3 similar items, they are likely not going to keep all 3 and if they decide to keep only one, the other 2 are returns or are they? When one decides to keep 1 item in a brick and mortar store in the same scenario, the company won’t consider it a return! They will focus on the 1 item and consider it a successful sale.

Therefore, home pickups is quickly becoming a critical part in the sale journey. If someone shopped for Zara items on their couch, they don’t want to become FedEx from their couch! When they need to become a shipper of items they don’t keep, it is super frustrating and inconvenient. If the return is part of the sale like in a brick and mortar store, they shouldn’t need to experience pain and delays in those items they didn’t keep! They should be celebrated for what they kept!

ReturnQueen enters to make this celebration a reality. Our own drivers and own fleet, a rarity these days, will give your shoppers the best shopping experience and celebrate them. Especially if they kept items, brands should embrace this. Even if they decided not to keep any items, we should make it a super easy and an enjoyable experience so they have no fear to shop again. Retailers don’t punish shoppers if they try on several items in a brick and mortar store and leave with zero. They should give shoppers the same value and respect when they shop from the couch.

Brands and retailers should of course focus on their products and style while letting companies like ReturnQueen give shoppers the greatest shopping experience.

The Holiday Shopping Season should be a time of joy for shoppers and retailers. When brands embrace the reality of home shopping, they can prepare better in many ways including smarter manufacturing, more efficient logistics and better marketing so this holiday season and all of the upcoming year will be a most successful one for everyone.

A more successful retailer is a happier shopper. ReturnQueen wants to make sure that retailers and brands have only joy this Holiday Shopping Season and beyond.
